Potomac, Maryland - April 8, 2008 - The Capitol Polo Club (www.capitolpolo.com) announced today it has signed an agreement to bring Marcos Bignoli, a 4/6 goal (Outdoor/Indoor) polo professional to the Washington DC Area Polo Club to serve as the Club Manager in charge of day-to-day management of the Club starting May 1st, 2008.

Marcos has played professional polo for 27 years, obtaining a handicap of 6 outdoors, 7 indoors for a period of 18 yrs, and currently carries a handicap of 4 outdoor and 6 indoor. He has played professional polo all over the world with stints in England, Spain, Dominican Republic, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Canada, Ireland, Barbados, Italy and the USA.
Capitol Polo Club President, Dr. Robert T. Do, noted that the Club has been conducting an extensive search for a qualified polo club manager to help build Capitol into one of East Cost premier polo and equestrian facilities. “We are extremely pleased to have Marcos join our management team as he is not only a premier polo professional player, but also comes with a reputation as a successful entrepreneur, an organized and superior club manager and instructor.” He has been captain of the Vancouver International Polo Team for the last 12 years, which has won several tournaments worldwide including the prestigious Canadian Open, and the Sunshine league (22 goal) in Boca Raton Florida. He also played and managed Team Foxlease, for nine years winning numerous major tournaments on the East Coast.
Marcos has organized, created, and managed several polo clubs, polo schools and polo fields all over the world. Among them the Nations Capital Polo School at the Lincoln Memorial from 1983 to 1984 in Washington DC, and his own, the ‘International Polo Development’ in Pilar, the world’s polo capital in Argentina. Marcos is currently the owner of ‘Play Polo in Argentina’ a registered trademark company that organizes polo excursions to Argentina, with luxury villa accommodations in the prestigious Centauros Polo Club. He also serves as an advisor on ‘Invest in Argentina Real Estate,’ and consults on horse purchasing in Argentina for numerous polo players.
Marcos has three daughters, Sofia (8), Eva (14)—both in school in Argentina—and Daniela (18), a first year medical student in Buenos Aires. He also has a son, Marcos Mateo, who is a polo professional with a handicap of 4. He currently has a farm in Argentina where he breeds and trains polo ponies year around.

The Capitol Polo Club is a premier polo and equestrian facility that is only 45 minutes from downtown DC. The club is located on 160 acres of beautiful preserved agricultural land in Poolesville, MD, with three regulation grass size fields, a large outdoor polo arena, an indoor arena, and a two story renovated club field house overlooking the Field 1.
